Healing Energy Alliance Forms in East Haddam

The Healing Energy Alliance (HEAL) is a cooperative organization of practicing holistic health and wellness providers. The coop exists to support these practitioners by providing consultation and treatment facilities on an as-needed basis and marketing and administrative support. HEAL offers an umbrella of common facility and service resources at 338 Town Street, East Haddam, Connecticut. The organization fosters holistic arts and serves as a channel of wellness services to the local community.

The participating practitioners benefit from a reduction in overhead and startup costs allowing them to grow their wellness business at their own pace. This organic growth allows for a healthier and more diverse business base of alternative providers. The community benefits from this diversity and the range of services and experiences it comprises.

As global issues of peak oil, environmental challenges and economic turmoil converge, both financial and medical industries struggle to adapt to the changing energy, monetary and social structures.  Concepts of health, disease prevention, wellness and treatment are correspondingly changing. At the same time, there is a wave of consciousness moving through the world in which we are awakening as a species to a fuller awareness of the influences on us: social and culture conditioning and global despair; all that has come before us molding the evolution of our consciousness; patterns of familial, tribal, religious and racial fears, prejudices and biases; and our disconnection from our ability to honor our imagination and a sense of ideals that can guide us to a brighter future.

A model of ‘eco-psychology’ is emerging in the world today guiding people to holistic approaches to living based on natural systems.

The holistic coop structure provided by HEAL is fundamentally aligned with this emerging cultural paradigm in two ways. First, the coop structure itself is a collaborative approach to local business that emphasizes cooperation and common good over profits. Second, the coop’s service consist of alternative health modalities that focus much more on prevention and wellness than the current, dominant, allopathic medical and pharmaceutical industries.

HEAL’s mission is to provide an egalitarian organizational structure to bring together providers of alternative health and wellness modalities and people interested and in need of these services; in support of healthy, community interdependency.
